Nutkins Nursery

Nutkins Nursery, which opened in September 2009, is part of the school's Pre-Prep department.  There are places for 32 children in a new purpose built nursery building, led by a nursery teacher who is supported by nursery nurses.

At Nutkins Nursery we promote the Early Learning Goals so that children can fulfil their potential at this vital stage in their development, and make a confident and smooth transition to full time education.  Our aim is to ensure that children enjoy their Early Years experiences in the care of skilful and sympathetic staff.  We lay the foundations for the children's future successes in a stimulating and caring environment.  Children are encouraged to play outside every day, with access to the school field during timetabled play sessions.  The nursery building has its own fenced off playground, which enables children to take their learning outside during nursery sessions.

The nursery itself is a bright, colourful environment with space for the children to experience role play and creative activities, and to play and learn individually and in groups.  Parents are encouraged to read the parents’ notice board in the nursery to keep abreast of what is happening in Nutkins.

For parents who need wraparound care, Nutkins children can attend Breakfast Club before school, from 7.45am, or After School Care, which is available until 5.30pm, with other children from the Pre-Prep.
