Kingshott Association
The Kingshott Association (KA) is a flourishing parents' association, which all Kingshott parents automatically become members of when their child joins the school. The day to day running of the Association is in the hands of a committee which is elected at an Annual General Meeting held in the first half of each Autumn Term. The committee is currently chaired by Suzie Dawes.
The purpose of the Kingshott Association is to:
- Develop extended relationships between staff, parents and others associated with the school
- Engage in activities that support and enhance the education of pupils at the school
- Provide and assist in the provision of facilities or items for education at the school, as the committee, in consultation with the school, may determine.
The Association's wide range of events includes:
- Headmaster's Braai
- Fireworks Evening
- Boys' Football Tournament
- Christmas Present Sale
- Christmas Disco
- Girls' Sports Festival
- Quiz Night
- Camp Night
- Fun Day / Sports Day
- Summer Ball
We have purchased a new sound system for the Drama department, a new marquee to use at outdoor events, and 3 new gas barbecues. We are currently in discussion to provide floodlights for the astro pitch. We will also be matching the funds raised by the Eco-Committee at the Fun Day to purchase double the amount of saplings they had planned to plant.
The KA is comprised purely of parent volunteers. The meetings are often attended by the Headmaster and sometimes by teachers and other school representatives.
The KA is always looking for more help and input. We are keen to discuss and develop new ideas on how we can further enhance the education of the pupils.
Contact us for more details of how you can help, or come along to one of the meetings.
