Speech and Drama

Speech and Drama is an extra- curricular activity and takes place during breaks and lunchtimes with occasional rehearsals either before or after school.
Lessons are taught in groups of no more than eight pupils. The aim is to build self confidence, introduce verse and encourage the development of imaginative and creative thinking.

LAMDA (The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) examinations are taken once a year and give the pupils a chance to study and attain high standards in all aspects of Drama:
Individual and Group Verse Speaking; Spoken English; Public Speaking; Reading Aloud; Solo; Duo Acting; Group Improvisation and Performance.
Pupils also take part in a LAMDA Showcase, a presentation evening of all their exam pieces to an audience of family and friends.
