- Kingshott Achieves Food for Life Bronze Award

Kingshott Awarded Food for Life Bronze
We are delighted to announce that Kingshott has achieved the Food for Life Bronze Award, recognising the high quality, healthy and sustainable food served to our pupils every day.
The Food for Life Award is a framework that helps schools teach pupils about food and where it comes from. Through it, pupils learn how to cook, grow and eat fresh, healthy and sustainable food. This ethos is at the heart of everything we do at Kingshott.
The award recognises the way our catering team works. Wherever possible, meals are prepared fresh on site, and that includes making use of vegetables planted and harvested in our own nature garden. Pupils can see for themselves the journey from seed to plate, and what they grow here often ends up on the lunch menu.
To achieve Bronze, the food served at Kingshott was rigorously assessed to ensure it is high quality, healthy and sustainable. As a Food for Life Bronze school, we:
- Understand how to work with our caterer to improve school food
- Include pupil voice in decisions about food and dining
- Teach pupils where food comes from and how the choices we make affect the planet
- Share our learning about cooking, growing and celebrating food with the wider community
This achievement is the result of real dedication from our catering staff and from Ryan, Head of Food and Nutrition, who have worked incredibly hard to earn this recognition. Thank you to everyone involved, and congratulations!
