Penguin watch!
Kingshott’s Penguin Watch Club recommenced this week with children from Years 3 to 7 meeting to become citizen scientists.
Penguin Watch is an online project run by Zooniverse where volunteers from around the world directly support real scientists. The volunteers count penguins, chicks and eggs from satellite images from across Antarctica. Scientists then use this information to monitor the effect of climate change on penguin populations.
The children involved will have their volunteer hours logged and will be presented with a certificate for their efforts.
