This Is Not Just A School

The Story Behind Our Film

Our film was born from a simple statement: This is not just a school.

Rather than answering it ourselves, we turned to the people who know Kingshott best, our community. We spent time listening to parents, pupils, teachers and leaders, asking why they chose Kingshott, what makes the school, and how it has shaped their children's lives.

The answers revealed a story far greater than academic success alone. We heard about children who feel safe to explore, experiment and take risks. We heard about inspiring teachers who see every child as an individual, and leaders who create an environment where ambition, curiosity and confidence can flourish. Parents spoke of a school where wellbeing matters as much as achievement, and where children are encouraged to discover their unique strengths and talents.

These insights became the foundation of the film. What emerged was a genuine reflection of life at Kingshott: a school filled with laughter, outdoor adventure, purposeful learning and moments that inspire independent thinking and personal growth. All set within our 23-acre back garden.

More than anything, the film celebrates the people who make Kingshott what it is. We are more than just a school. We are a community, united by a shared belief in developing the whole child. Together, we create an environment where children feel valued, supported and empowered to become confident, capable and compassionate young people, ready to embrace every opportunity that lies ahead.

About Kingshott

An education should support and develop the whole child, not simply measure academic performance. At Kingshott we embody this philosophy. Set within beautiful Hertfordshire countryside and guided by a genuinely holistic approach, Kingshott recognises that every child possesses unique talents, interests and aspirations.

Creating an environment where creativity, curiosity, character and wellbeing are valued alongside academic excellence.

From 3 to 16, pupils are known as individuals and encouraged to discover their strengths through a rich blend of academic, sporting, artistic and enrichment opportunities. Whether in science laboratories, on the stage, in the swimming pool, on the sports field, or participating in one of more than 50 clubs, children develop confidence, resilience, leadership and a lifelong love of learning. Our exceptional pastoral care ensures that pupils feel supported, challenged and inspired. Kingshott prepares young people not just for exams, but for meaningful, thriving and fulfilled lives.
