Warner Bros Studio Tour
Last Friday, Year 6 visited the Warner Brothers Studios and the Harry Potter exhibition. The children were able to be quite independent during the visit, and see things that particularly interested them. It was interactive and they learnt the mechanics of how special effects work, with flying cars and broom sticks! It was particularly interesting to see how the story grew from a book into a film, and how people used their imaginations to develop characters and buildings. They saw concept artists work on how Dobbie, for example, would look and saw intricate scale models of how buildings started, forming from white paper and card models into larger coloured models, using thick cardboard and cement. These models had the most intricate detail, but were scaled down and must have taken 1000’s of hours of work to do.
