The Annular Eclipse

Today was an annular eclipse. It saw the Moon move across the face of our star but not completely blocking out the light coming from it. The best place to watch was apparently the Arctic but as we didn't have time to get all the way up there this morning, we watched approximately 20% of the sun become covered over from our beautiful grounds here at school.

Everyone was armed with a pair of special eclipse glasses to ensure it was safe to look at the sun. Lots of lovely picture below.

Another way to view the eclipse was to look at it reflected into water. Mrs Butcher tracked the progress using this method and got some stunning pictures.
