ISI Inspection Report
June 2025:
We are delighted to share the findings of our latest Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) report – that Kingshott has successfully met all five required standards under the new inspection framework.
Under the new ISI inspection framework, schools are no longer given graded judgements (such as the 'excellent' rating we received in our previous inspection). Instead, the reports provide a more nuanced and detailed evaluation of the school's provision across the areas of leadership, management and governance; quality of education, training and recreation; pupils’ physical and mental health and emotional wellbeing; pupils’ social and economic education and contribution to society and safeguarding.

“We are delighted to have both successfully met all the standards of the inspection, as well as having so many aspects of our provision commended,” says Head, David Weston. “The inspection team were incredibly positive in its observations of our ethos, the quality of education provided, and the kindness, confidence, and enthusiasm of our pupils.”
Inspectors highlighted Kingshott’s:
-
Strong leadership and governance – Inspectors noted a clear and shared vision for the future, underpinned by consistently implemented policies and procedures that promote pupil wellbeing.
-
High-quality education – Our curriculum was described as coherent, well-structured and progressively challenging, and is delivered by dedicated and knowledgeable staff who inspire curiosity and confidence in all our pupils.
-
Commitment to pupil wellbeing – This was a particular strength noted by inspectors, who were impressed by the warm, supportive atmosphere in our classrooms. They observed excellent behaviour and mutual respect, as well as the impact of our effective anti-bullying strategies.
-
Social and economic education – Inspectors were especially impressed by the active involvement of pupils in initiatives such as the eco-committee and their roles as ambassadors for rights and responsibilities. These contributions reflect a strong sense of community and readiness for life beyond school.
-
Robust safeguarding procedures – These were recognised as a testament to our unwavering commitment to pupil safety.
“We are grateful to all parents, pupils, staff, governors and the wider Mill Hill Education Group team, whose support, dedication and hard work both before and during the inspection process, helped showcase our school to the team of inspectors,” concludes Mr Weston. “Together we continue to make Kingshott School a remarkable place to learn and grow for all our current and future pupils.”
All UK independent schools are inspected regularly by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). A team of four inspectors visited Kingshott for two and a half days in Spring 2025 (29 April to 1 May). The inspection is a rigorous process which includes inspectors observing lessons, undertaking discussions with governors, senior leaders, staff and pupils, as well as scrutinising pupils’ work and school policies and documentation. The inspection team also took into consideration the views of pupils, members of staff and parents via their own pre-inspection surveys.

November 2023:
We are delighted to have ‘passed’ our ‘material change inspection’, undertaken by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). This inspection takes place when any changes are proposed by a school, such as our move to offer GCSEs. The aim is to ensure Kingshott is well prepared and able to make any of the appropriate changes to its educational provision.
