Fantastic France with Year 6
4.30am on Monday 4 June marked the beginning of the Year 6 French trip. Indeed, we started so early because the day ahead of us would be packed with activities. It was the first time some of our students had been crossing the Channel on a ferry! As soon as we got to the other side, we went to a French supermarket called “Auchan” and I bought “du sirop de grenadine, de fraise, de fruits de la passion” to allow the students to taste “diabolos”. After that, we went to a bakery where all students saw how to make bread and croissants, and they even had a chance to make their own! We arrived at the Chateau between 6.00pm and 7.00pm. The boys and girls stayed two nights in the Chateau and two nights in a pod. On Monday evening, the students had some free time to explore the magnificent surroundings. On Tuesday, we went to Naours Undergound City in the morning and to Amiens Zoo in the afternoon. On Wednesday, we went to Amiens market where the students spoke French and got a tour of the city. In the afternoon, we came back to the Chateau where all students took part in outdoor activities such as archery, kayaking and many more!
On Thursday, we went to Stade de France in the morning and Versailles in the afternoon! On Friday, we went to the goat farm in the morning and to the supermarket before heading back off to Calais where our ferry was waiting for us. A great time was had by all!
