Admission process into Senior School

We are delighted to welcome new students into Years 7, 8, and 9, space permitting.

Students joining our Senior School (in Year 7, 8, or 9) will be invited to attend our Assessment Mornings (and Scholarship Afternoons, if applicable) in the January before the September they are due to start at Kingshott. If families have missed these Assessment Mornings, and if space allows, students are welcome to join a later Assessment Morning in the Spring or Summer term.

Our admissions selection process aims to ensure that students are a good fit for Kingshott and that they will thrive academically and pastorally during their time at the school. During the Admissions Assessment Morning, students will undertake the following assessments:

• An hour-long CAT4 Assessment, which measures a student's ability in verbal, non-verbal, spatial and quantitive. All students will complete this assessment on a computer. We have chosen the CAT4 entrance assessment because it is specifically designed to allow students to demonstrate their academic potential without the need for additional coaching. As such, we do not recommend any preparation for this assessment, nor do we provide example papers.

• An independent creative or persuasive writing task, for 30 minutes, handwritten unless alternative access arrangements are required. There will be a fiction and a non-fiction choice for pupils to choose from. Some example questions can be provided.

Offers (for places and Scholarships)	Will be emailed by Mid February 2026
For entry after this time, if places are available, we will offer additional Assessment Mornings, for Year 7-10 students in the Spring and Summer Term. Please contact us to discuss this further.
