Joining Kingshott at 11+

A Rich and Balanced Education

Throughout Years 7 to 9, pupils are taught in small classes, allowing teachers to provide focused academic challenge and individualised support. They are encouraged to think critically, engage deeply with their learning, and explore topics beyond the curriculum. Kingshott is an academic school, but one with a strong pastoral foundation — we believe that confidence and wellbeing underpin academic success.

Learning extends well beyond the classroom. Pupils take part in a wide range of trips, workshops, performances, and enrichment opportunities that broaden their horizons and inspire curiosity. From drama productions and concerts to sporting fixtures and creative projects, every child is encouraged to discover and develop their individual talents.

Leadership, Character, and Community

As senior members of the school, pupils in Years 7, 8, and 9 take on positions of responsibility in areas such as sport, pastoral care, and leadership. These roles are highly valued and help pupils to develop confidence, empathy, and teamwork — skills that serve them well both inside and outside the classroom.

An Exceptional Foundation for GCSE Success

At Kingshott, the experiences gained in Years 7 to 9 provide an outstanding foundation for the years that follow. Pupils are well prepared for the academic challenges of GCSEs, with all subjects taught by teachers who have recent and relevant experience of Senior School GCSE teaching. This ensures that students benefit from the highest levels of subject knowledge and understanding of examination standards.

A School that Grows with Your Child

We are proud to offer an education that nurtures each child from age 3 right through to 16. Our values — ambition, curiosity, kindness, and respect — remain at the heart of all we do. By the time our pupils reach the end of Year 9, they are confident, motivated, and ready to embrace the opportunities of GCSE study within a school they know and love.
