Sleeping over at the Space Centre for Year 3
Year 3 children had a 'Spacetacluar' sleepover at the National Space Centre.
Last week Year 3 ventured to Leicester for a sleep-over at the National Space Centre. The children arrived with great excitement as they went straight into the Planetarium for a show; during which they went into space, visiting various planets, it was, “So cool, it felt like we were actually moving in space!” The children then enjoyed a Domino’s delivery, filling themselves ready for a busy night. They made satellite headbands, explored the various galleries on offer, with huge excitement, and ended the evening learning about how astronauts get to space, inclusive of a small rocket launch demonstration! At 10.30pm the children had set up camp inside The Universe gallery, finding their own little spot to sleep in. As the lights went out at 11.00pm the children were still full of excitement, although a little wearier than when we arrived earlier that day. We were then treated to another show in the Planetarium following breakfast on Saturday morning, which was incredible and so realistic! Well done to all of the children for representing the school, the trip was a lot of fun, although there were a few sleepy people on the way home…not just the teachers!
