Pancake Race Title Goes to Pitt House
Pitt House Pancake Race Assembly was relocated to the gym due to poor weather and the number of puddles on the playground.
The change of location however did not stop the competitiveness between the Houses. Each House had 2 teams that contained a mixture of girls and boys from years 3 to 8. The races were set up as a relay between 2 teams at a time, and at 2 specified points the pancakes had to be tossed twice. Judges ensured children stuck to the rules and awarded time penalties for anyone found to have broken the rules. In the heats, it was the B team from each house that won. Both of the semi-finals were hotly contested, the first between Nelson and Drake, which Drake won and the second between Pitt and Scott, which Pitt won. In the final Pitt showed both speed and skill to beat Drake who tried hard to catch them.
The assembly finished with the presentation of a brand new ‘Golden Frying Pan’ to the winning team from Pitt House. Thanks to the staff who did their bit to make the event run smoothly and Miss Roberts for organising the whole thing.
