The KA

THE COMMITTEE:

The KA (Kingshott Association) is a flourishing Parents Association, which is open to all Kingshott parents. The day to day running of the Association is in the hands of a committee which is elected at our Annual General Meeting held in the first half of each Autumn Term. The KA is a member of the "PTA Organisation" which is a national charity supporting Parent Associations. We use their current constitution to govern our group; we are also a registered charity.

At present, the committee is being led by

Co-Chairs, Patti Rio Green & Emily Ramnarain

Treasurer, Nipun Gupta,

Secretary, Sarah Banks,

Advertising & Marketing, Melissa Benson.

The KA exists to develop relationships between staff, parents and children of the school by organising events throughout the school year. Any additional funds raised from these events are then used to assist in the provision of facilities or items for education at the school, as the committee, in agreement with the school, may determine. The termly subs paid also help support these events.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Prep Disco 4th February

The Prep school disco is returning! An evening of fun for years 3 to 8.

The evening is split into 2 sessions, one for years 3 to 5 and one for years 6 to 8, and includes music & entertainment, face painting, toys, hot food and much more! The kids have loved it in the past, and it is a great “rite of passage” for when they get to the Prep school!

Parent Quiz Night 25th February

A Kingshott favourite, and a great way to get to know other parents.

Test your wits in our annual quiz with rounds covering topics from music and  general knowledge to sport and celebrities. Drinks and pizza will be available to pre-order but there will also be a pay bar on the night. Bring your own nibbles (but please no alcohol). Gather your team and join us for this fun event!

May Ball 21st May

The Ball is Back! The votes are in and this year’s event will be Black Tie.

An amazing evening is planned for you all. We don’t want to give too much away, but the evening will include canapes and bubbly on arrival, live entertainment, a 4 course sit-down meal, charity auction and some other surprises that we will keep to ourselves for now! It’s been a great event in previous years, and we cannot wait to have everyone back celebrating together again.
See below for photos of previous balls.

OUR PROJECTS:

Our most recent project, which we are very proud of is …

The Nature Hangout

This was an exciting new project to create an eco garden in the school grounds - click to open the Eco Garden page. The KA donated the funds for this project and the main bulk of the groundbreaking work was done by our very own Mr Comerford and his ECO Committee. It was an amazing surprise to come back to the school, after the children had been at home during the first lockdown, and see all the hard work that had taken place. What a transformation!

We also contribute each year to Enrichment week for the children, as well as paying to provide lifeguards for the school pool so it is available over the summer holidays.

The KA is managed entirely by parent volunteers, with meetings attended by the Headmaster, teachers and parents.

The KA is always looking for new and existing parents to join or come forward with ideas for events and fundraising, so please do get in touch if you are interested.

Contact us for more details of how you can help, or come along to one of the meetings. Email: kingshottka@hotmail.co.uk

The Kingshott Association is a registered Charity (Number 1150666).
