30th Anniversary for Kingshott's Piano Festival!
Kingshott's annual Piano Festival took place last week and what a turnout it was! This was a particularly special year, being the 30th anniversary year of the piano festival, and as such we were delighted to welcome collaborative pianist and conductor Jocelyn Freeman as our adjudicator this year. With five categories featuring solo and duet performances across the whole school, Jocelyn provided individual feedback and a certificate to each child participating, encouraging them to be confident and enjoy playing for themselves and for others - she was particularly impressed with the duet partners and how well they worked together as an ensemble! We were also fortunate to hear Jocelyn play a short recital at morning breaktime, featuring some beautiful and energetic pieces in a range of musical styles.
Thank you to all who participated in this year's piano festival - I am very proud of you all for playing with such enthusiasm and passion, as well as preparing so thoroughly in your lessons and home practice.
