Kingshott's new 3D Design workshop is up and running!

We are absolutely delighted that Kingshott’s new 3D Design workshop is up and running!  Pupils from Year Three all the way to Year Nine are enjoying the bigger space and increased provision of machines and materials.

The new workshop is located in the Robinson building, housed in what was the former science lab. It is spacious and light, with adjacent storage areas, making the new workshop a great space in which to learn and enjoy 3D Design.  The workshop includes a wide range of machinery and tools, that can be used by pupils of different ages across both our Junior and Senior school. Notable new equipment includes two more fretsaw machines, which are seen in use by Year 6, two additional sanding machines and the MIG welding equipment which is being installed ready for use by senior students next term.

The workshop is a superb space for pupils taking 3D Design GCSE over the coming years, and we look forward to starting our first GCSE group in September.

Pupils have enjoyed the 3D Design workshop this term, and projects are heading towards completion for inclusion in the forthcoming Art and Design Exhibition.  This includes Year Six students cutting out laminated plywood wings for their 'Flying Creature' projects, which will be on display for everyone to enjoy.
