Kingshott School Remembrance Service
On Tuesday, 11 November, the whole Kingshott community came together for a moving Remembrance Service to honour those who have given their lives in service to their country. Pupils and staff gathered in quiet reflection, united in gratitude and respect for the fallen.
The service began with words of welcome and reflection from Mr Weston, who then gave a poignant reading of The Soldier by Rupert Brooke. The Head Boy, Oscar, and Head Girl, Ellie, each delivered thoughtful readings, reminding everyone of the importance of remembrance and the enduring values of courage, sacrifice, and peace.
A solemn silence was observed as the Last Post was beautifully played by Nicholas. We thank our brass ensemble and choir Phoebe, Sasha, Vicky, Nicholas, Noah, Ethan, Walter, Jake, and William for marking a moment of collective reflection across the school grounds with music.
The ceremony provided a powerful reminder of the importance of remembrance and the need to carry forward the lessons of the past with respect and hope for the future.
We also thank the many artists in our community who helped create the artwork of poppies for the service.
