Growing Greener Communities Together

Kingshott School has been fortunate to receive the donation of two trees from The Blue Tree Company as part of its Growing Greener Communities Together initiative. The contribution supports one of the school’s key environmental priorities: improving biodiversity across the site.

The two fruit trees have been planted near the Astro, on the far side of the new field. The first was planted in October, while the second was planted on Monday 19 January with the enthusiastic involvement of the Senior Eco Committee. Their spring blossom will enhance the school landscape for many years to come, while also providing tangible environmental benefits.

The selected tree is a Kansan cherry, a fruit-bearing variety that will encourage wildlife and contribute to increased biodiversity across the school grounds. As the trees mature, they will help attract birds and pollinators, strengthening the local ecosystem and enriching pupils’ daily experience of the natural environment.

Trees connect us to nature, to place and to one another. Through its partnership with Trees for Cities, The Blue Tree Company is committed to helping communities grow greener, healthier and more resilient spaces.

Those planning tree work and wishing to learn more about how to get involved are encouraged to get in touch.  Further information can be found via The Blue Tree Company’s website.
